Search continues for lost HV boy on N.C. coast

(AP) - Authorities are continuing their search fora 12-year-old New York boy who disappeared in rough surf alongNorth Carolina's Outer Banks while body-boarding with his fatherand uncle.
Officials in Currituck County said Monday that12-year-old Chance William Cosgrove from Pearl River, N.Y., was onthe beach at Corolla last Friday when all three were knocked downby a wave while standing in no more than 4 feet of water.
County spokesman Randall Edwards said rescuers could only findthe boy's bodyboard, despite lifeguards and U.S. Coast Guardpersonnel arriving within minutes.
Edwards said Monday's search was hampered by intermittent rainand heavy winds, and that initial search efforts were affected byTropical Storm Danny lurking off the coast last weekend. He saidthe search would resume Tuesday.
