Former New City bank worker admits to thefts

The former manager of Hudson City Savings in New City pleaded guilty Friday to stealing $700,000 from customer accounts.
Federal officials say 40-year-old Milagros Rodriguez, of Garnerville, committed the thefts between April 2002 and March 2009.
The investigation into the embezzlements began six months ago when customers voiced their concerns over money being withdrawn and their accounts being closed.
The FBI was brought into the probe, and in April Rodriguez surrendered to federal authorities.
Rodriguez faces up to 30 years in prison, a $1 million fine and mandatory restitution. She is set to be sentenced in December.
