Officials: Remember fireworks in NY are illegal

As the Fourth of July approaches, officials are reminding residents that fireworks in New York are illegal - no matter where they are purchased.

Despite the law, some New Yorkers headed to Pennsylvania to stock up on the pyrotechnics. Lauren Anderson, who sells fireworks in Pennsylvania, says most New Yorkers who shop at her store know it's illegal to bring them across the border, but they do it anyway.

Officials advise local residents who want to see fireworks to go to an official display.
