Funeral held for Valley Cottage dad

Fellow bike riders led the funeral procession in Congers Tuesday for the Valley Cottage man killed in a motorcycle crash over Father's Day weekend.
The casket carrying 46-year-old Richard White was slowly brought out of St. Paul's Catholic Church followed by grieving relatives and friends who came to say goodbye to the father of two young children.
Police say White was riding his motorcycle on Route 9W when he lost control near Rockland Lake State Park at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. White crashed into a guide wire near a utility pole and died on the spot. According to investigators, speed may have been a factor in the fatal accident.
Friends say White was an electrician by trade, but his true passion was motorcycles. He even built a custom bike for himself and frequently attended motorcycle rallies around the country.
"He was a special guy," says co-worker Manuel Longueira. "He was like Superman."
The exact cause of the crash that resulted in White's death is yet to be determined.
