Attackers allegedly hack off man's hand
Police say two men severed a man's hand with a meat cleaver during a bloody confrontation at a New Rochelle club Sunday night.
According to investigators, two men entered the Italian-American Social Club at around 8 p.m. to collect a debt owed by the club's owner, Vincent Zarcone. Police say when Zarcone didn't have what the two men wanted, one of them, Christopher Calise, of Yonkers, attacked him with a meat cleaver.
Zarcone ran out of the building after the alleged incident and eyewitnesses say his wrist was attached to his arm by only a sliver of skin. According to police, Zarcone was also stabbed 10 days ago by Calise and never reported it.
Zarcone was taken to the hospital and is undergoing surgery in an attempt to reattach his hand. Calise and the other suspect, Maurice Mann, are in custody. They're expected to be charged with assault and weapons possession.
