Hendrick Hudson student accused of raping girl

A student at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose was taken into police custody Tuesday night and charged with raping a classmate.
New York State Police say they arrested a 15-year-old boy after a female student told school officials that she was forced to have sex with him in a bathroom at the school. Police have yet to release the date and time of the alleged attack, but they say it took place during regular school hours.
"It's kind of scary to think that this could happen during school with nobody finding out about it," says senior Alex Kaufmann. "I was pretty startled to learn about that."
The identity of the suspect has not been released because of his age, but Hendrick Hudson High School students say if he is guilty, he deserves to be treated as an adult.
"It's reckless, and that kid deserves the worst punishment," says junior Michael Tandy.
A spokesperson for the Westchester County District Attorney says the case will not be prosecuted in family court because of the seriousness of the crime.
