MTA bailout could include payroll tax

A revised bailout deal for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority could impose a new payroll tax on local businesses.
A local business lobbying group, the Westchester County Association, led by Bill Mooney, says suburbia is ending up on the short end of the stick again.
"We have an economy right now where business revenues are down," says Mooney. "Everybody's trying to look at their expenses and one has to wonder whether the government, quasi-government agency such as the [Metropolitan Transportation Authority] has our best interests in mind."
The bill continues to be negotiated in the state capital.
