Vanderhoef announces bid for 5th county exec. term
Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef announced Thursday he will be seeking an unprecedented fifth term as the county's top official.
One of the platforms Vanderhoef will be running on is a property tax cap, which he proposed during his State of the County address.
Speaking to News 12 Hudson Valley before his announcement at the Blauvelt firehouse, Vanderhoef said an experienced official has to stand at the helm of county government during the economic crisis.
"The question is how do we go about getting jobs, how do we build jobs and businesses even in a time that's difficult," Vanderhoef says. "And I really want to tackle them - that's one of the satisfactions of the job."
