The Dobbs Ferry Police Department lost a member of the force April 10.
Richard White, 33, died of a gun shot wound the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office says was self-inflicted.
White, remembered for loyalty, dedication and an infectious laugh, served on police SWAT, marine and bicycle units. He was also a volunteer firefighter.
A purple and black bunting hung outside the emergency services building where White worked. He leaves behind his family and a fiancée.
