Reporter slaying suspect arrested in Middletown
(AP) - Police have arrested a teenager in the brutalslaying of veteran radio news reporter George Weber. New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne says the16-year-old from Queens was taken into custody late Tuesday nightin Middletown, N.Y. He was arrested Wednesday and will be chargedas an adult. Browne says the suspect "made statements implicating himself inthe homicide." The victim apparently allowed the teen into hisBrooklyn home after they met through Craigslist. Weber's body was found Sunday. His ankles were bound, and he wasstabbed about 50 times. Weber worked at WABC in New York for 12 years as the on-airreporter for popular shows such as "Curtis and Kuby." He also hadworked at stations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver andPennsylvania.
