Woman offers kids sense of safety through pajamas

As the economic crisis has deepened, more families have faced hardships forcing them - and their children - to live in shelters.
Genevieve Piturro, the founder of Pajama Program, hopes to change the reality of 30,000 children in Westchester who are going to sleep wearing street clothes because they're living in poverty.
Piturro's mission is to collect as many pajamas as she can to give children a sense of safety and security at night.
"It's like wrapping arms around them as close as we can," she says.
Volunteers who show up once a month at the Ardsley Community Center to pack the donated items say they've noticed an increased demand at local shelters for new pajamas and books as the economy worsens.
