Pothole causes backup on Tappan Zee

A massive pothole on the Tappan Zee Bridge caused traffic to stretch for miles Thursday morning.
The two center Westchester-bound lanes were shut down at about 6:30 a.m. for emergency repairs as crews worked to cover up a huge pothole with a thick metal plate.
In the middle of the morning rush, it meant vehicles were backed up for more than two hours and for miles to Exit 14 on the New York State Thruway.
"You were sitting there. It was just a big parking lot," says Janet Nathan, of Nanuet.
