Frigid temperatures hit Westchester, Hudson ValleyPosted: Updated:
Residents across Westchester County woke up Monday to bitterly cold temperatures, but that didn?t stop them from doing some last-minute holiday shopping.
The Macy?s at the Cross County Mall in Yonkers is staying open 24 hours until Christmas Eve. Many shoppers say the last-minute deals the stores have are an incentive to brave the cold.
This is the third year Macy?s has held a 24/7 shopping marathon.
Meanwhile, News 12 Hudson Valley meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says temps will remain cold throughout the day, with winds making it feel like it is between 8-14 degrees.
Motorists are being urged to use caution while driving due to the weather. The cold temperatures combined with the aftermath of the weekend's storm are making roads icy and slippery. Drivers are warned to specifically look out for black ice across the region. News 12 Hudson Valley Weather Center
