Westchester and the Hudson Valley ready for ice storm
Residents across Westchester and the Hudson Valley purchased snow shovels and salt Wednesday night in preparation for expected rain, snow and ice.
The Home Depot in Monroe displayed snow melt, shovels and snow blowers prominently for any locals looking to ready themselves for the wintry storm. Many residents said they would rather be safe and purchase the necessary storm materials early, than be sorry.
?We're ready for it, whatever it is,? Enrique Moreno, of Greenwood Lake, says. ?Let it come.?
If the storm predicted for Orange County hits hard, ice could cause power lines to go down. Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana asks residents to report downed power lines to 911.
