NYC bus driver from Spring Valley fatally stabbed

A New York City bus driver from Spring Valley was stabbed to death on the job in Brooklyn Monday.
New York City police say 46-year-old Edwin Thomas was killed by a passenger who failed to pay the $2 bus fare. The passenger swiped an invalid MetroCard and sat down before asking for a transfer slip. According to officials, when Thomas told the man he didn?t pay for the ride, and therefore could not get a transfer, the passenger attacked him. Thomas was hit in the head and then stabbed.
Thomas made the trip to Brooklyn every day for the past seven years to drive the M-46 bus. It was the first killing of an on-duty New York City bus driver in more than 25 years. The suspect is still on the loose and police are offering a $12,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
