Posted: Updated:

Incumbent Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee nabbed the Democratic nod in the 95th Assembly District during the primaries Tuesday and will not face a Republican challenger in November.

Jaffee was vying for a second term against Ramapo Town Clerk Christian Sampson. Jaffee says she is hoping to head back to Albany to fight high property taxes.

Meanwhile, Democrat Carl Wright won the GOP nomination in the village of Sloatsburg mayoral race. Wright was facing Republican Marino Fontana, his first opponent in the race. Wright, a Democrat, has had Republican support since 2000.News12 Hudson Valley Primary Election ResultsHudsonValley voters head to the polls
