Posted: Updated:

An early morning stabbing left two young men clinging to life Monday.

Authorities say the stabbing happened just after 1 a.m. in front of 7 Franka Place. According to Spring Valley police, the two victims, both in their 20s, were stabbed multiple times in the chest, back, neck and stomach.

Even though both victims were bleeding profusely, they were able to crawl toward Twin Avenue. Police say they know this because they followed a trail of blood to get to the victims.

Both victims were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where one underwent surgery and the other was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. As of Monday evening, both victims were listed in critical condition.

Authorities have identified 20-year-old Manual Vazquez-Castro and 23-year-old Leonel Najera-Castro as suspects. Both men were arrested and are now facing two attempted murder charges each.

Police say the incident started at a party that got out of hand. They are still looking for a motive in the case.

Several knives were found at the scene. Police are still trying to determine if they were the weapons used in the attack.According to authorities, there were two other stabbing victims involved in the attack, but neither received serious injuries.

Both suspects are waiting to be arraigned in Spring Valley Justice Court.
