Alert neighbor calls cops after witnessing break-in

Posted: Updated:

A burglary suspect remained at large Monday night after a manhunt in Haverstraw.

Police say neighbors spotted multiple people breaking into a home after 1 p.m., possibly from the backyard. The suspects fled when officers arrived. Police used helicopters and dogs to track the robbers along train tracks behind Delloro Street.

One suspect remained on the loose after the search.

No one was home at the time of the break-in. Investigators are trying to determine how the burglars got inside the home and what was taken.
