Thrill-seekers take plunge after girl's fall
One day after a teenage girl fell 30 feet at a Bear Mountain State Park watering hole ? leaving her seriously injured ? swimmers continued to take the plunge.
Police say the Putnam Valley girl fell off a rocky ledge down what's known as "Hell Hole" Sunday. The girl suffered severe injuries and was unconscious. She was flown to Westchester Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.
New York State Park Police took a News 12 Hudson Valley crew down the non-designated trail that leads to Hell Hole.
Thrill-seekers who choose to ignore the signs and take the plunge face a summons and fine of up to $200.Luis Williams got a ticket Monday for bringing his nephews to jump off the cliffs. After learning what happened to the teen, he's rethinking ever coming back to Hell Hole.
"I mean these are my nephews ? 14 years old," he says. "I don't want anything bad to happen to them."
