The district attorney's office is looking into upgrading charges levied against a man who left his elderly parents in a hot car, causing his father's death.

Theodore Pressman is already facing a charge of reckless endangerment. He is currently out on bail.

Police are hoping to get more answers as they continue to investigate the death.

In the meantime, Yonkers' Office for the Aging is using the tragic incident as an opportunity to reach out to others caring for elderly parents.

Margaret Kerner, community projects coordinator for the Office for the Aging, says Pressman displayed classic signs of being overwhelmed while caring for elderly parents with dementia. Kerner says the office has help available to deal with the stresses of elderly care.

"There's all kinds of services we provide," says Kerner. "Meals, doctors, visits, homecare ? all he had to do was pick up the phone."
