A teenager was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound after a brawl at the Spook Rock pool in Ramapo Tuesday evening.
A large group allegedly armed with tire irons and box cutters was involved in the skirmish. The 18-year-old struck by gunfire was taken to an emergency room due to a gunshot to the leg.
Phil Tisi, assistant to the Rampo town supervisor, describes the incident as out of the ordinary for the spot.
"It's an aberration for Spook Rock pool," says Tisi. "That never takes place there. We haven't had any incidents at that pool in many years."
