A former NYPD officer is behind bars Friday for allegedly molesting a young boy.Sgt. Jamie Katz, a 10-year veteran of the force, is accused of abusing a young Manhattan boy from January 2003 to November 2007.?He was sworn to protect us, protect our children,? said District Attorney Tom Zugibe. ?Instead he was a sexual predator.?Katz is charged with sodomy, criminal sexual act and sex abuse. He is being held on $500,000 bail. Katz is due back in Rockland County court next month.
