Cops bust 24 in Nyack drug dealing sweep

An army of police officers arrested 24 suspected drug dealers in Rockland in a predawn raid Wednesday.
The arrests and seizures of drugs and guns culminated an eight-month undercover investigation, dubbed ?Operation Ghostrider,? into drug dealing centered in Nyack. Investigators say the group would hang out behind building 3 at the Nyack Plaza apartment complex. They say the alleged drug gang called themselves the Building 3 Crew and posted a video on YouTube.
Investigators say wiretaps helped them intercept more than 50,000 drug calls since August. Undercover cops even made some buys. During the arrests, police say $400,000 worth of cocaine was seized, as well as heroin, guns, bulletproof vests and thousands in cash.
Investigators say the sales were caught on video surveillance behind building 3, which is right next to a preschool. They say customers were coming to make buys from as far north as Albany and as far south as South Ocean County in New Jersey.
Local, state and federal investigators were all part of the investigation and announced the bust Wednesday at Nyack's Village Hall. Officials say the bust knocks out Nyack as "the hub? for hundreds of drug users.
