Man dies in motorcycle crash just after buying it

Police say a Beacon man died after he crashed a motorcycle in the parking lot of a dealership where he had just purchased the bike.

New Windsor police say Dennis Walden bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at Moroney's Cycle Shop in New Windsor around 6 p.m. Thursday. Walden was riding the Harley across the parking lot to get it into his truck when he lost control and crashed into a parked car.

Police say Walden wasn?t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
