Little League pushes for life-saving devices

Posted: Updated:

The Monroe-Woodbury Little League is trying to acquire automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, for each of its 70 teams. The portable units can restart a heartbeat in case of a life-threatening incident.

The league has been raising money to buy the machines for each team, and on Tuesday, Monroe Ford pitched in to help. With the dealership?s donation, the league can now buy its ninth unit.

The Monroe-Woodbury Little League head says since it starting buying AEDs, other local sports leagues have taken an interest in getting the units.
