Crews descend on Spring Valley car wash after oil spill

Hazmat crews and fire officials were hard at work Friday cleaning up more than 100 gallons of motor oil that spilled out onto Route 59 in Spring Valley.
A Pennzoil Quaker State truck was making a delivery at an oil change and car wash business when authorities say it malfunctioned, causing oil to spill out.
"I went back inside to turn the nozzle back on the pump, but I guess by the time I walked back inside, my oil pump blew, probably blew a seal," truck driver Bob Scott said.
Scott said he shut down the valves as soon as he was aware of the spill. The car wash was forced to temporarily close. There were no injuries, but the accident did create a mess covering a parking lot and small section of Route 59.
The oil spill did not create any traffic tie-ups.
