Flyers head out during start of holiday rush

Travelers flying out of Westchester County and the Hudson Valley got a head start on their holiday trips Friday.
Among those leaving are college students returning home for winter recess. Families who want to be in the company of relatives during the holidays are also flying.
"They're excited to see their grandparents, so it's worth it," said Pam Kirchof, who?s flying to Houston with her family of five.
The Transportation Security Administration is reminding travelers that it?s best to keep their gifts unwrapped.
"If there's something in there that causes us to be concerned, we're going to have to open up the wrapping job and we don't want to have to do that,? said Romero Iral, Deputy Federal Security Director of the TSA at the Westchester County Airport.
There were no delays on Friday for travelers flying out of Westchester County Airport.
