Man stabs brother following a family funeral
A 26-year-old resident of Port Jervis was arrested Friday for the near-fatal stabbing of his brother.
Attila Teleky has been charged with assault in the first degree. Police believe Teleky stabbed his younger brother, Geza, in the neck with an 18-inch wooden dowel.
"My brother almost killed me," said Geza Teleky. "I could replay the situation. He just stood there. We looked in each other's eyes. He didn't move and just stabbed me right in the neck."
The altercation took place after the siblings returned home from the funeral of their grandmother. At the time of Teleky's arrest, he was still wearing the suit and tie from the memorial service. He was released from jail Friday after posting $25,000 bail.
