Police hunt suspects in Garnerville ATM robbery
Police are looking for the men who robbed a RadioShack employee as he tried to make a night deposit at a Garnerville ATM.
Police said the 19-year-old employee was attacked at a Chase Bank about 300 yards from his store around 7 p.m. Sunday. According to police, the employee told them two masked men grabbed him from behind and one hit him with a baseball bat. The victim said one individual may have had a gun.
The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"It's unbelievable. Unfortunately, this area is going down and there's no way to stop the crime. It's getting worse and worse," said Lisa Sullivan of West Haverstraw.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Haverstraw Police Department at 845-354-1500.
