DA questions two NYPD cops for Yonkers bar fight
The Westchester District Attorney?s office has questioned two NYPD officers in connection to a brawl outside a Yonkers bar. Officers Thomas Wimmer and Michael McGhee were questioned by Yonkers detectives on Monday at the district attorney's office in White Plains. Investigators are trying to determine exactly what role, if any, the two off-duty officers played in the beating of a 26-year-old Yonkers man on September 14 outside the Rockin? Robins bar.
The officers have not been charged with any crimes in connection to the assault. Sources say the two men were initially detained by other NYPD officers who responded to the scene, but were let go. In all, six NYPD officers and a sergeant have been placed on modified duty as a result of the assault.
A lawyer for one of the officers says the cops were just trying to pull people from a fight.
