Family and friends of a young girl who unexpectedly died are seeking answers while state health officials try to figure out the cause of death.
Iasia Reeves, 8, of Peekskill, died unexpectedly at Westchester Medical Center Tuesday.
Family members say she was brought to the emergency room a week earlier, complaining of stomach pain. They say doctors chose not to admit her until her pediatrician found something wrong with her.
The family doctor was able to get her admitted Friday and a few days later Reeves died.
The New York Department of Health is investigating Reeves? death. The district attorney?s office says it is monitoring the case while waiting for toxicology results.
