Cops: Shoe store boss didn't cover theft tracksPosted: Updated:
The manager of a Foot Locker store in the Newburgh Mall is accused of stealing $300,000 from the store and its sister stores.
According to police, 23-year-old Jose Flores skimmed money from deposits at his store, Foot Action and Champs. Investigators say Flores didn't even try to cover his tracks, and they say financial records point to him. He now faces a felony grand larceny charge.Authorities say it's the biggest case of embezzlement Newburgh has ever seen. Police say it's possible more people could be arrested.
