Middletown teen killed in ATV accident

Posted: Updated:

A 16-year-old Middletown boy died after losing control of an all-terrain vehicle Wednesday.

Anthony Cola, 16, was getting ready to start his junior year at Pine Bush High School. State police say Cola was riding by himself on windy roads in Mamakating, located in Sullivan County. According to police, Cola was coming around a curve in the roadway when he lost control and smashed into a utility pole.

Police say Cola was not wearing a helmet. They say while it?s not clear a helmet would have definitely saved Cola?s life, most accidents turn out differently when the rider has a helmet on.
