Rockland residents pack parks and pools amid heat

Posted: Updated:

People across the Hudson Valley tried to find ways to beat the oppressive heat Tuesday.

As the mercury soared and the heat index was into the 90s, people packed pools and parks to stay cool. Germond?s Pool in West Nyack hit a summer-high attendance number of almost 300 people. Other residents found a shady spot in the park to relax.

Lake Nanuet provided a cool respite from the heat wave for many residents. Many parents joined in to swim with their children. However, some said cooling off during the dog days of summer is best left to the kids. Related InformationHudson Valley Weather
