Jury still out in Spring Valley murder trial
The jury continued deliberations Thursday in the murder trial against Carlos Herring, the man accused of shooting 29-year-old Don Thompson II to death outside a Spring Valley night club last August.
The jury, which asked for some of the testimonies to be read back Wednesday, is considering a charge of second-degree murder.
Herring allegedly got into an argument with Thompson at Club Horizen. The argument continued outside the club, where witnesses say Herring shot Thompson six times, killing him almost instantly.
Herring fled to Florida after the shooting, where police arrested him a few days later. Herring faces 25 years-to-life in jail if convicted.
