Million dollar mansion destroyed by fire in Stony Point

A million dollar mansion was destroyed by a three-alarm fire Saturday in a historic section of Stony Point.
Around 1 a.m. Stony Point fire crews responded to the fire at the Main Street property that contained four separate apartments. Four residents escaped without injury. However, when firefighters went inside to battle the flames, they found a dangerous situation; due to the old plaster and wood construction, firefighters say pieces of the ceilings and roof were collapsing. More than 75 firefighters spent two hours extinguishing the flames. Fire officials say they believe an overloaded electric box on the second floor is to blame.
The house had been in the Davis family for five generations. They say they were about the sell the property, but are heartbroken to lose it so tragically.
