Judge gives killer of pregnant Spring Valley teen 22 to life
A 23-year-old man was sentenced to 22 years to life Thursday for the brutal murder of his pregnant Spring Valley girlfriend.
Ryan Ross pleaded guilty in January to beating 16-year-old Karesse Ebron with a baseball bat in June of 2006 after learning she was pregnant with his child. Ebron was missing for two weeks before Ross finally led police to her body.
In court, the prosecutor called Ross a cold-hearted and cowardly person who only thought of himself and never showed remorse. She asked the judge to spare him no leniency. Ebron's mother says she will now focus on the scholarship fund that's been established in her daughter's name.To view a news conference on the sentencing, go to channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and click iO Extra.Related InformationAccused killer of pregnant teen pleads guilty in Rockland court Police search for murder weapon used to kill Spring Valley teen
