Rockland highway crews tackle unique winter storm

Highway crews in Rockland had their work cut out for them as they tackled a very unique winter storm Wednesday.
Part of the problem for highway crews was the combination of snow, rain and freezing rain that pelted the region. Many roads were treated Tuesday with a salt-brine mixture to help keep the roads clear. However, Mother Nature sent a wallop that kept crews busy around the clock.
Valentine?s Day gave some residents a reason to venture outside. Others heeded the advice to stay home and stay warm.
