Rockland School Board Association moves to give taxpayers some relief

The Rockland County School Board Association is laying out a plan to give taxpayers some relief from unfunded state mandates and rising property taxes.
The association is releasing a report that shows how the increasing cost to school districts for new education mandates has an impact on property taxes. Brian Burrell, the executive director of the Rockland County School Board Association, says because the educational mandates are unfunded or under funded, property taxes are continuing to skyrocket.
Burrell says taxpayers will keep voting down school funding unless they see some relief. In the end, he says it will be the kids who suffer.
