After a winter of unseasonable temps, deep freeze grips Hudson Valley

After being spoiled by unseasonably high temperatures, Hudson Valley residents finally got a real taste of winter Friday.
Forecasters say the temperature will barely get out of the teens, and with the wind chill it will feel like it is below zero degrees. For some businesses, as the temperatures dip, their bottom line goes up. Heating and plumbing businesses were kept busy with calls for no heat.
Experts advise if residents are going to venture outside to wear several light layers to help stay warm. The very young and very old are most susceptible to cold-related emergencies, so it is a good idea to check up on them during the extreme cold.
