The fire started about 4 p.m. on Fred Hecht Drive. The family of five safely evacuated the apartment it moved into less than a week ago. The victims say they watched new furniture, clothes and other items go up in flames.

Authorities say the fast-moving fire may have started in a vacant apartment next door.
