Domestic dispute call turns into New Windsor weapons, drug arrest

Editor's Note (as of 2021): The domestic violence case has since been dropped against Mr. Gasparini.
Police say a domestic dispute call in New Windsor led officers to cache of cash, weapons and drugs. Officers went to the home of 25-year-old Brennan Gasparini Monday after his girlfriend claimed he held a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her. Based on her statement, police arrested Gasparini and searched the apartment.
Police say they found a loaded shotgun, nine ounces of marijuana and $8,000 in cash. Police also found rounds of high-powered ammunition and a receipt to a Public Storage unit on Route 94. Police say they found another $52,000 in cash at that location.
Gasparini is charged with possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana and menacing. Since Gasparini has a prior assault conviction, the Orange County district attorney upgraded his criminal possession of a weapon charge because state law mandates a convicted criminal cannot possess a firearm.
