Teens allegedly beat down cop responding to Monroe house party

A police officer is recovering after a group of teens allegedly beat him when he tried to break up their rowdy house party in Monroe.
Authorities say Sergeant Robert Compasso found around 100 teens on a lawn, some of them fighting and drinking, when he responded to a call at Half Hollow Turn around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. According to officials, the teens started beating and kicking the cop, causing Compasso to use his Taser gun to keep them at bay until six other officers arrived. Adults were at home during the incident, according to neighbors. A teen who attended the party says some people snuck in the beer.
Two teens were arrested for assault and investigators say more arrests are possible. Compasso is expected to recover.
