Soldier facing murder charges of Hudson Valley officers mum in court
The soldier accused of killing two superior Army officers from Hudson Valley did not enter a plea at his arraignment Friday at Fort Bragg, NC.
Staff Sergeant Alberto Martinez is accused of setting off a grenade in a room and killing Captain Phillip Esposito, of Pearl River, and First Lieutenant Louis Allen, of Chester, in June 2005. Allen?s parents were present at the arraignment. They say they hope to see justice prevail against their son's alleged killer.
Martinez's court-martial is scheduled to begin June 4. If convicted of murder, Martinez could get the death penalty.
