Woman shaken after intruder forces way into Middletown home

Posted: Updated:

Police are searching Tuesday for a man who forced his way into a Middletown home on Linden Avenue.

Police say a 64-year-old woman answered her door Monday night to a man asking for to speak with her boyfriend. They say she told the man her boyfriend was not home and that's when the suspect kicked in the door. They say he pushed her down and made off with cash. Police are investigating a possible connection between the suspect and the woman's boyfriend.

Middletown police have increased patrols in the area. They are reminding residents not to answer the door if they don't recognize the person. Anyone with information is asked to call Middletown police at 845-343-3151.
