A new airline will be coming to Stewart International Airport that will offer travelers many more options.
Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) joined local leaders and airport officials to unveil AirTran Airway?s plan of daily nonstop service to four popular destinations. AirTran officials say they will send two flights a day to its hub in Atlanta, which connects to 40 other airports nationwide. It will also offer daily nonstop flights to Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
AirTran?s fares will be about $70-$80 for a one-way ticket. It will cost business travelers even less as tickets will be discounted around 60 percent. The new AirTran flights will begin on January 11, 2007. Airport officials suggest buyers purchase tickets 21 days in advance to receive the introductory rates.
