Junior firefighter from Hillcrest dies suddenly

Posted: Updated:

A junior firefighter from Hillcrest was found dead in his bedroom after returning from a fire call.

A medical examiner is trying to determine exactly what caused 16-year-old Vincent Linguanti's sudden death Monday. The teen joined the Hillcrest Volunteer Fire Company a month ago. Linguanti?s family says he went to hockey practice Sunday, came home and ate dinner and was called out on a fire call. After the call, he went to bed where his mother found him the following morning.

Linguanti?s family members says Vincent loved the fire department. They say the ultimate tribute to him would be for other young people to become volunteers.
