Investigation into missing Highland Falls mom back to square one
State police confirmed Tuesday that the body found at a Dutchess County farm is not that of a missing woman from Highland Falls.
State police say two hunters found a woman's body Friday buried in a barn in LaGrange. Police say 30-year-old Petra Muhammad went missing seven months ago leaving behind a 2-year-old son and husband. Thinking the body may have been Muhammad, village police gave her dental records to state police.
The investigation into Muhammad?s disappearance is back at square one. Police questioned William Muhammad and searched their Schneider Avenue home months ago but found nothing incriminating. The two were going through a divorce at the time. Police say the husband was not cooperative with them and they suspect he knows something about his wife?s disappearance.
