Two men shot, one fatally, at popular Spring Valley nightclub
Police say a Saturday morning shootout at a popular Spring Valley club left one man dead and another wounded.
According to police, shots were fired in front of Club Horizon on Main Street, killing 29-year-old Don Thompson Jr. and wounding 23-year-old Joas Ellie. Investigators say Thompson was shot several times in the chest, while Ellie was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg. The shooter, who police say had a problem with Thompson, is still on the loose.
Neighbors say they?re tired of the problems the club brings, so they?ve started a petition to try and shut it down. Club Horizon is a favorite hangout of hip-hop and Latino crowds. Police say the club is plagued by violent incidents, including a recent stabbing and the arrest of four men who started a brawl. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 845-573-5848.
