Police arrest second suspect in Middletown diner shooting

Posted: Updated:

A second arrest has been made in connection with the weekend shooting at the Colonial Diner in Middletown. According to police, a gunfight broke out in the diner's parking lot Saturday morning. Janoid Johnson, 32, of Brooklyn, was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. Police say the other shooter, 26-year-old Shamon Williams of the Town of Wallkill, fled the scene after suffering a knife slash to his face and four bullet wounds. He was treated at a New York City Hospital where he told police he was the victim of a drive-by shooting. When Williams returned to Orange County, however, Middletown police picked him up at his home and arrested him. The investigation into the shootout continues and police say more arrests are expected.
